Pictorial Webster's: A Visual Dictionary of Curiosities

Pictorial Webster's: Inspiration to Completion from John Carrera on Vimeo.

This is an incredible feat of letterpress work, so meticulously organized, printed and bound. I am in awe of John Carerra's Pictorial Webster's! It is so easy to take for granted the skill and craftsmanship that went into books and publications produced before the age of computers and offset printing. In addition to the letterpress printed copies in this edition, Chronicle Books has published a $35 hardcover version.

I actually used to work for a printing company - so I too really appreciate all the work that goes into making bound books - amazing and beautiful work.

Thanks for your comment about my cake - Clive might be edible but there is no way that you could bite into him!

I had no idea just how much work went into binding a book by hand from beginning to end. Amazing.
